Teresa flew down from Sacramento on Thursday with Cindy Mom and Emily at week 35 of her pregnancy for her baby shower. Everyone was so excited to see her and her baby belly!

Are they not just the cutest?

Auntie Heather and Emily going for a horseyback ride! Even after walking 16 miles that morning training for the cancer walk Heather still had the energy to run around with Emily on her back.

Emily and Auntie Heather - October 24, 2008

Heather and Teresa have been friends since they were in High School. They also were roommates while they were at UC Davis. She is such a sweetie and spent almost every waking moment of her weekend here at the house with the girls. Ray and I loved having the girls here. It was like old times. We miss that!

Couture Hopsital Gowns & Accessories

I found a website that will allow you to down load a pattern for free or a donation if you wish at http://www.lazygirldesigns.com/hospitalgown.php. There is another blog that has a photograph of the gown she made for herself at http://sewcutebabe.blogspot.com/ .

I decided to make the headband, pocket (which hides where the electrodes go - there is a buttonhole about 5" long inside the pocket) and sleeve cuffs all with contrasting fabric. In talking to a certain someone who will be receiving this as a gift she requested a pillowcase too. Luckily I purchased another contrasting print in the set and voila a pillowcase!

For those of you who are interested, I made this the full size of the pattern and I also cut extra in the back to cover the hiney.

I used snap tape at both of the shoulders so it can be opened for nursing. There are also one buttons and buttonholes at each neck opening. There are only two ties on the back, but after talking with the certain someone we decided not to put three as I originally thought because then when you were in labor you possibly would be sitting on a knot! You obviously are uncomfortable enough as it is without a knot on your hiney!

It didn't take that long to assemble about one and a half hours total time for all.

I also made the side seams french style so there are no open raw edges to rub on the delicate side of the mother to be! Remember to double click on the pics to see close up but remember don't look too closely and keep those comments kind!

October 5th, 2008 - Maggie's Birthday Brunch at Taps

Posted by PicasaMonica contacted all of her Mom's siblings to get together to celebrate her birthday at Taps in the new Dos Lagos Shopping Center off the 15 in Corona. Ray has two brothers, Al and Ramiro and two sisters Maggie and Lupita. It is a beautiful restaurant and they have a delicious spread of food. There is live entertainment in the form of a Jazz Band also. If you get a chance and want to go to brunch somewhere different try it out! Thanks Monica for organizing this it was a wonderful day.

Dinner at the Buenafe's

Becca and Matthew invited us over for dinner on Friday night to celebrate her finishing her thesis. It has been a long 3 1/2 year haul for her but there is light at the end of the tunnel! She will present soon. Hopefully we will be attending her graduation in December. Becca made turkey burgers, guacamole and fresh oven roasted potatoe wedges. The boys watched the very disappointing Angel Game on the tube while Becca and I hung out in her bedroom. It was so fun - just like old times. They have a massage chair in there that is so worth coveting! Thanks for a delicious dinner and a wonderful evening.

Guess Who?

This is my sister Patti, the one of the right! The other remarkable character is my niece Tori, she is quite camera shy, but when she is in costume you can take as many pictures of her as you would like. She just turned 16 and received her first car from her parents for her birthday. She is a hard working Capo High School Junior. This picture doesn't do her justice. Someday, well maybe someday she will let me take a picture of her, just her! Tori I am so proud of you! You are a sweetie!
