Christmas by Candlelight

Posted by PicasaMy friend, Shannon Oveson hosts a table at Christmas by Candlelight, St. John's in Orange. She has hosted a table each year and we are the fortunate ones as she gets to invite several guests to join her. The hostesses decorate the table in their Christmas finery. Each table has a different theme and dessert, tea and coffee. There is a guest speaker each year, covering different spiritual topics and there are always carolers from different venues in the area. It is a wonderful evening and always seems to put you in the Christmas spirit.

Jack's mom spent all morning baking his special cupcake cake and making individual cupcakes for everyone invited to share in his special day. Grandpa Ron, Gramma Cindy, Papa, Gramma Carol, Emily, Daddy and Mommy, and many special friends were there to celebrate with him on his first birthday.

November 2009 - Racoon Visit

Every night for about three weeks we kept finding paw prints in the back yard that would lead from the arbor over to our fountain. The rascally racoon would take out some plants, make a little mess and then take off. One morning I woke up to this! The racoon had pulled out the rubber cork out of the bottom of the fountain and ate all 18-20 fish that were in the fountain. Not a trace was left. That rascally racoon!

Let there be Light!

I am so glad we decided to install canned lighting. What a difference it makes in all the areas. You can see in the bottom middle picture we painted over the gold paint with Behr Oat Straw. Depending on the time of day, it can look anywhere from a light tan to a light green.

November 2009 Demolitoin Day

We started demolition of all the downstair flooring and the powder room in November. We decided at the time we may as well install canned lighting in the hall, family room and kitchen seeing as we were making such a big mess anyway. Big mess doesn't begin to describe what that was. There was a 1/16 inch of dust on everything in the entire house whether we covered it or not! Thank goodness for Elena and Lucy (our cleaning ladies).

Emily & Jack Hord's Halloween

The city of Georgetown closes down one of their historic streets "Church Street" and the kids go trick or treating. The cemetary which happens to be on that street also is a great backdrop for pictures on Halloween! Emily went as a snow princess and Jack was dressed up as a Monkey. Aren't they adorable???

Getting ready for Trick or Treat!

Becca came in for the weekend to attend a Halloween Costume Birthday Party for Dani and Nick at the Gomez's on Saturday night. We had so much fun with the costumes and make-up. Ray and I were a Worlock and Witch and Becca came along as our Black Kitty Cat. Ray looked awfully spooky with his costume!

Rose's Canyon Cantina, Trabuco Canyon, CA

Ray went on a ride along to fix the bulb today out in the canyon of a restaurant we visited this past weekend. We noticed the street light was burnt out so he called it in and then did a "ride along" with one of his street light repairman. He really enjoyed watching what they do and how they do it.

SSID Annual Picnic

This is my man! Isn't he just handsome!!!! We attended the annual SSID picnic on Saturday morning and they start the picnic with an early morning softball game. Sadly, this is Ray's last picnic as he has been given a new position at SCE. He is now the Manager of over 700,000 light poles all over Southern California! Can you imagine!!! Well, I can't even begin to imagine. Of course this position is different than anything he did at SSID with the exception of the "managing" part. If you find a bulb out just give him a call!
