Rebecca and I spent Saturday before Christmas shopping for Christmas presents. We had lunch also. That certainly got us in the spirit of the holidays nothing like spending the day out in the mall with hundreds of other folks and feeling the excitement of what is to come.

Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!
If you look closely you can see the buildings in the foreground, that is Foothill Ranch Elementary where I work. We were so lucky to wake up one morning to this beautiful view of our mountain range the Saddleback Mountains.
Becca awarded Master's at CSUF
Early December, Ray and I met my parents, Bob and Betty, Matthew and his Gramma Virginia at CSUF as we were invited to attend her public defense for her Master's Degree. Rebecca has been studying the effects of disturbance of Biological Soil Crusts on the germination of exotic plants in Coastal Sage Scrub for the past 3 years. The public presentation portion was Rebecca providing a 35 minute talk on her thesis research. This was followed by a private 3 hour defense with her committee members which was made up of the professors in the Biology Department at CSUF. She is currently working to have her thesis published. She was also awared the CSU Pre-doctoral Fellowship.
Rebecca your family is so proud of you!

Emily and Gramma Baking Christmas Cookies
The night before I had to come home from T & Jer's, Emily and I got to bake Christmas Cookies together. She is quite the decorator and her Daddy gobbled up her special cookies.
Emily is really excited for Christmas!
Teresa and Jeremy started their Department 56 collection last Christmas and they are adding to it each year. I can't wait to see which piece she gets this year. You can sure tell how excited Emily is for the holidays!
Decorating the Christmas Tree at the Hord's
It was so much fun watching Em and her Daddy decorate their Christmas tree. She took all of her mom's ornaments from when T was a little girl and put them around the bottom. Em's new ornament collection went around the middle and Daddy's firefighter ornaments went on the top. T and Jack sat on the sofa with me and watched. We had the best seat in the house!

Emily visits Mommy & Daddy
Emily wanted to see where her Mommy & Daddy were going to be for a few days. So Gramma and Papa took her to the hospital to see Teresa after she had been checked in and before her labor really got going. Uncle Bobbie and Aunt Keira came and picked Em up and took her out to Incredible Johns pizza so Gramma could be with Teresa for the delivery. They are a wonderful young couple and Emily really loves them lots!
The Big Day - T & Jer off to the Hospital
Teresa and Jeremy got up this morning at 5:00 a.m. as that is when they were suppose to call in to see when the could head off to the hospital for induction. Well according to the nurses they were going to have to wait as they were full. A little while later they received a call and were able to leave. I think Emily was pretty comfortable being left with Papa and Gramma. She kissed Mommy and Daddy goodbye and began playing with her Tinkertoys with Papa. Soon we all got dressed and headed off to the Hospital to see her mommy so she would know where she was going to be for a few days.
Jer and T on Thanksgiving Day
Teresa and Jeremy picking out the wine for our Thanksgiving Feast that Jer was preparing for the family. We are waiting for the big day which should be tomorrow the 28th for Teresa to be induced. We are all so anxious and excited. I can't wait to meet the little boy!
November Bunco - Colleen Jepson's Baby Shower
You wouldn't know from the pictures but Lynn subbed for me for our November Bunco/Colleen's Baby Shower. I was suppose to host the festivities but I was needed elsewhere. Lynn came in and worked her magic allowing Colleen's special evening to happen. Thanks Lynn for all your hard work. We didn't get home until after 10:00 and Lynn had the entire house cleaned up. She is an amazing friend!
